First time trying this type of basket, where the woven base and stake structure is formed by strips of bark.
Willow bark, corn husk (purple cordage), sweet grass, sedge, and the fine cordage is made from invasive honeysuckle bush bast fiber. Woven damp and dried around a square(ish) bottle for shaping.

All grown at my house, then harvested and prepared by me. No dye — all colors are the natural material. Yes, the purple bleeds when wet and will fade over time with exposure to light, but those husks were already two years old when I twisted the cord to make this.

It’s more flexible than I expected it to be, now that it’s dry.
