Linen twill sewn with handspun linen thread (my second try – the first was unusable as thread) and flat-felled with silk embroidery thread in a herringbone pattern with joins tacked down.

This is the modified pattern a lot of SCAdians use (1 long rectangle folded in half, 2 square gores in the front and back). I wanted it to be fairly lightweight and more of a sun-blocking garment than a winter piece, and this modified construction method is airier and a little easier to wear comfortably with the hood down.
