Magnus needed something he could wear for court besides his “boyfriend T-tunics.” This was the first time I used herringbone stitch to tack down flat-felled seams. I used silk thread and did a double herringbone. This is definitely the one and only time I will do this as a full-garment seam treatment!

As far as I know, there is no extant evidence of the pretty side of this stitch being used on the outside of a garment. This is purely for decoration factor and not for A&S competition.

I failed to anticipate that he would immediately catch the long floats on all sorts of things and pop threads. Oh well… now I know you should tack the floats down at the intersections!
At least he had something to wear in court for his AoA (2011). And he still prefers it as his “dress” tunic, 7 years later, so I’m calling it a success.
