I wanted to embellish the neckline and cuffs of my light blue dress with a linework motif, but options from extant garments are fairly scant. Instead I took a kotwork motif from the Book of Kells and translated it into a circular collar with a keyhole front.
This was originally in wool thread with dark and light green colors, but I got careless and threw it in the wash with the other garb a few too many times and had to rip out the shrunken embroidery and re-do it in a thread that wouldn’t shrink. This version is working out much better thus far.
