8-Strand Braid

Part of my basketry study is getting familiar with different plait arrangements and practicing them. As part of this, I am working on a long piece of flat cord/trim using bobbins to execute a plait out of eight strands. (Four strands of each color.)

I played around with the order of the different colored strands to see what effect it would have on the pattern.

Eventually I settled on an arrangement that gave me alternating chevrons of each color, and I am working my way through yards of braid until I reach the end of my first bobbin.
